Is Silver Jewellery Design An Art Form

Silver jewellery is sold everywhere these days. Not so long ago gold was the jewellery markets mainstay but more recently those trends changed likely to be due to the availability of silver on the precious metals market. As a metal is silver is very versatile. Silver jewellery design has become an enterprise for many small businesses silver jewellery. Silver jewellery is available to buy from stores throughout the internet such as Etsy. When you investigate the silver jewellery market you will find that there are a variety of different jewellery styles out there ranging from the plain simple to the avant garde. I remember when I was a teenager that I was fascinated by the products of one particular jewellery shop called the Great Frog in Carnaby Street. The jewellery from the Great Frog could usually be seen around the necks and on the fingers of models from The Face magazine which was the style bible of the time. The Great Frog created a range of gothic looking jewellery from silver necklaces to Silver rings. Once i’d saved enough money from my job I visited London to buy a couple of pieces. I was truly fascinated by the variety of styles. In the end I found enough to courage to visit the shop. Inside the place looked like a gothic cave. I instantly saw a piece that caught my eye when I entered the tiny gothic shop which was great because I hadn’t planned what i was going to buy. Lit up in a cabinet I noticed a unique looking ring with the initials AJS on it which happen to be my initials. My long skinny fingers made it look like a knuckle duster. The ring was a regular conversation piece when meeting women. I hadn’t seen seen anything else out there that looked like it. I don’t think that gold is quite the same to design and shape. It is rare to see gold jewellery that has the same mystical feeling as silver. Ingeneral there are less design styles but i’m guessing that is to do with the price of the metal.
