There are so many different parts to the city of London that your visiting experience will depend on which part you travel to. Basically, London is comprised of a number of towns all connected to one another. The best of these towns to visit are:
Covent Garden & The Strand – This town has many stores, hotels, and theaters. As such the Strand, a wide road that goes toward the City from Trafalgar Square is always packed full of visitors and automobiles. Covent garden leads of the Strand and is filled with cafes, bars and street entertainers (magicians, dancers, mime artists, etc.).
Kensington – You will find yourself right at the gates of Kensington Palace and in just the right location for not only shopping but for looking for members of the royalty. In this area, your chances are much greater of seeing a member of the royal party coming or going from Kensington Palace. Even if you do not manage to see a royal, you will be certain to get lots of great photographs.
Oxford Circus & Piccadilly Circus – Millions of tourists visit these extremely famous areas every year. Situated in the West End of London, Piccadilly Circus serves as a central hub and common meeting place and is thus very busy and a tad untidy. If you’re looking to go to Oxford Street to visit the major shopping area in London, Oxford Circus is the ideal route to take.
Soho & Leicester Square – Soho is one of the most colorful areas in London and is home to a fantastic pub, bar and restaurant scene and Leicester Square, which is right next to Soho, is where UK movie premieres takes place. There are often TV and movie stars hanging around these places so be sure to take your camera and autograph book.
Westminster – This is the town out of which the UK government operates, and you can also find the popular Westminster Abbey here. Huge, stately structures are viewable from each corner of every road, and you will be amazed at the amount of history that you will see. Taking a stroll on the streets of Westminster is akin to going back to when the United Kingdom was at its glorious best.
