Minnesota downgrades with Koufos, Jazz upgrade with Jefferson

Deron Williams’ fans were worried that he would be in Chris Paul’s shoes next year, great PG with a not so great team. Paul Millsap will be a good replacement for Boozer, especially considering his cost. Boozer left Utah fans without much satisfaction, the same way he left Cleveland fans. Paul Millsap signed a 4 year $32 million dollar contract in 2009. Millsap provides the same offense with no defense that Boozer provides at half hte cost. Keeping Millsap for cheap looks great now when Minnesota unloaded Jefferson for a couple picks.
The Jazz will figure out what works best, but those three players can split up the minutes. Jefferson needs to return to his old form to make Jazz GM O’Conner look like he belongs in the premier GM category. He averaged 22 and 11 in the 08-09 season before his injury and then 17 and 9 in 09-10. My bet is he returns to his 08-09 form this year and makes Khan look like an idiot. Jefferson is well worth the two 1st round picks and Kosta Koufos, who will never do anything in the NBA. Those two 1st rounders won’t look as good when they are in the 20s each year.
David Khan strikes again! He’s already stated he’s ready to trade Koufos. He won’t get more than a 2nd rounder for Kouf. That won’t convince fans to get those Timberwolves Cavaliers tickets next year. Someone must have forgotten to tell Khan that players values go down when you publicly announce they are on the block. It’s the same reason why he got a bag of crap for Jefferson. It is stunning every morning when I check ESPN and he’s still the GM of the Timberwolves. ESPN doesn’t even need to have a “rumors” section for Minnesota, they can just type up exactly what he says to radio shows and other media outlets. Khan gave away that he wanted Wes Johson for the draft as well and almost moved up when there were rumors the Nets might take him. I can’t imagine what Khan would actually say about his team if he had a few beers in him. Oh well, maybe if the team stays bad the Timberwolves Grizzlies tickets will stay cheap.
