Straightforward No Sugar Candida Diet Recipes

I adore food.

So when I looked at the list of banned foods on my Candida diet I got in a bit of a flap. I didn’t relax when I took a look at some of the Candida diet recipes that are floating around either! Most of them looked like they belonged in a fancy restaurant and not in my kitchen – what the heck is ‘saute’ anyway?

I did manage to find a few Candida diet recipes that looked easy, but once I found out that a leek and broccoli soup really was just leeks and broccoli in some water and that cheesey celery was just cottage cheese dipped in celery I hit the back button in disgust.

So I had a look at what we were allowed and put together a really simple eating plan – and just varied the flavour. Once you get to know your flavours it is amazing how much taste variety you can have and sugar, what sugar?

Breakfast Candida Diet Recipes
At breakfast we have the choice between; Rolled Oat porridge – If quinoa is cheaper for you guys then go for that too! Instead of the usual sugar and milk, try yogurt, berries and cinnamon or allspice. Your second choice is scrambled eggs made with water.

Lunch and Dinner Candida Diet Recipes
These two can be swapped – what you do not have for lunch, have for dinner.

Salad
One of the cheapest and fastest meals to prepare out of all the Candida diet recipes is a basic salad.

Simply throw together a couple of chopped peppers, a sliced cucumber, an avocado or two and mix in half a shredded lettuce and viola!

Here’s where the fun starts because each time that we serve our salad up, we are going to alter the flavor by adding different meats and dressings; add some chicken, top with cottage cheese and drizzle lemon juice over the lot; add lamb and top with a yogurt and mint dressing; add tuna and drizzle lemon juice over everything.

Stir Fry
Stir fry your broccoli, cauliflower, onion and celery as normal, throw in some crushed garlic and ginger and add one or two types of shredded leafy greens – like spinach, bok choy, silverbeet or cabbage.
Have it on its own with differnt flavors or use it as a base for your meats and alter the seasoning to suit.

Candida Diet Recipes for Dessert
Sweets are super tricky during the elimination phase – so if you absolutely must have dessert, but don’t want to go to a lot of effort and expense, you are really limited to;
Natural unsweetened yogurt with;
cinnamon or allspice;
berries;
rolled oats or other soft whole grains.

Candida Diet Recipes For Treats
Grab a big rice cracker and cover with your choice of;
Cottage cheese and cinnamon or chives
Tuna
Hummus
If you can come across or make bread that meets all the rules for stage one, then these toppings are absolutely divine on toast!

Use hummus, cottage cheese and yogurt as dips for small rice crackers and raw vegetables.

Keep boiled eggs in the fridge and seize one when hunger strikes.

A handful of nuts and seeds mixed together will do wonders for any nagging hunger pangs or munchies.
