Those yet to pay a visit Florida’s Disney World may not realise that the resort is comprised of four smaller theme parks within. Here’s a quick guide to each of them.
Magic Kingdom:
The first park built at the resort and the most visited theme park in the entire world! The park is split into six smaller areas which include the Western-themed Frontier Land, the dream-granting Fantasy Land and the intergalactic Tomorrow Land, which contains the popular Space Mountain ride and Autopia race track. The iconic structure of this park is the aesthetically pleasing Cinderella castle which stands at nearly 60-feet tall.
Epcot:
This park aims to pay homage to international culture and innovative technology. The park is less ride-focused and instead offers visitors a number of interactive attractions and simulators including Mission: Space and hand gliding simulatorSoarin’. The park does also include a test track and (comparatively tame)Finding Nemo themed ride however! The iconic structure of this park is the spherical Spaceship Earth comprised of almost 12,000 isosceles triangles.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
The iconic structure of this park is the Sorcerers’ Hat a giant replica of the hat Mickey wore in the famed Fantasia animation. The park centres on the themes of stardom and spectacle, inspired by Hollywood’s 1930s and 40s heyday. As well as the park being littered with artefacts and treasures from some of Hollywood’s most famous films, other top attractions include the Aerosmith themed Rock n Rolla Coaster and a Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom:
The park is focused on animal conservation. The iconic structure of this park is The Tree of Life a huge, 50ft wide tree which has 325 different animals carved into it, all of which can be seen around the Animal Kingdom. Animals include wallabies, giant ant-eaters, kangaroos, hippos, elephants and lions (amongst many others). In the Animal Kingdom, you can also view a Bugs Life themed 4D movie in the park or watch a live show of Pocahontas and Friends.
With this much on offer, Florida holidays are no doubt topped by a stint at Disney World Resort!
